US senators call for answers to Trump's crypto interests

The Senator of Massachusetts, Elizabeth Warren, asked government officials to answer questions related to Memecoin by US President Donald Trump and his media company.

In a letter dated April 25 to Jamieson Greer, the incumbent director of the US Office of Government Ethics (OGE), demand Warren, a democratic MP from Massachusetts, and the democratic Senator Adam Schiff from California that the authorities should deal with the concerns regarding Trump's Memecoin after the president had announced a dinner and a tour of the white house for some of the people who have most of the Trump token.

The two senators demanded information about protective measures and guidelines related to the question of whether foreign actors and other persons could buy political influence on the president, which could possibly affect his political positions and pardon.

“President Trump's announcement promises exclusive access to the presidency in exchange for a considerable investment in one of the President's business companies,” the two senators wrote.

“By promising such an access, this proposal could affect several federal laws on professional ethics and constitutional prohibitions, including the federal law on bribery and the emule clauses of the US constitution.

The letter was sent on the same day, on which Warren concerns similar concerns about Trump's possible conflicts of interest in connection with the US stock exchange supervision Sec Sec said.

According to a Reuters report on April 25, the Senator from Massachusetts asked SEC chairman Paul Atkins to ensure that the supervision of Trump's media company was “free of inadmissible political interference and influence by the President and his government”.

Although Warren highest ranking is a member of the Senate banking committee, she does not have the authority to determine the agenda of the congress because the Democrats are in the minority.

Two Democrats in the Senate and in the House of Representatives already have one Amanentebung required because of his Memecoin dinner.

Warren added:

“The American people deserve the unshakable certainty that access to the presidency is not offered to the highest bidder in exchange for the president's own financial advantage.”
