Clearstream uses Crypto Risk Metrics for ESG data

The Hamburg service provider for ESG crypto data, Crypto Risk Metrics, has pulled another thick fish ashore. As the Börsen-Zeitung found out on Monday, the German Börse subsidiary Clearstream will in future fall back on the services of North Germans to supply its customers who have crypto exposure. After Crypto Finance, Clearstream is the second customer from the German Stock Exchange Universe.

As a post-trade service provider and central custodian, Clearstream is a giant in the securities market that looks after customers in 110 countries and recently introduced an institutional crypto-attorney for its international customers. The stock market subsidiary was also included in the ECB tests on the setting of DLT infrastructure.

Ensure fulfillment of regulatory requirements

The focus is on the cooperation. Clearstream's crypto-custody solution enables customers to “manage their crypto-assets safely and efficiently”, says Thilo Derach, Head of Sales & Business Development Digital Securities Services at Clearstream. “The Crypto Risk Metrics's ESG data offer helps us and our customers to meet the regulatory requirements.”

“And since we always stick to the highest standards, it was the best for us to rely on the data from Crypto Risk Metrics measured in ISO accredited test centers.”

For Crypto Risk Metrics, Clearstream is to Bitpanda and the DWP Bank The next major customer. “By Clearstream as one of the central actors in the financial services area, it is a great honor for us. Our ESG data offer fits perfectly with the new crypto-customer solution, as before the choice of our product by Crypto Finance, also showed a company of Deutsche Börse AG,” said the CEO of Crypto Risk Metrics, Tim Zöllitz.

Key figures must be reported

Anyone who works in the business with crypto value papers must meet additional requirements in the course of the EU regulation that has been in effect since the beginning of the year. The markets in Crypto Assets Regulation (Micar) require crypto-asset service providers to report various ESG indicators since December 30, 2024. As a data specialist, Crypto Risk Metrics is also the Exclusive ESG data providers the ISO-24165 registration authority for the digital token Identifier Foundation and cooperates with various data providers such as infront for simple integration into systems.
