Ethereum could overtake Bitcoin, says co -founder of the project at Consensus 2025
At the Consensus 2025 in Toronto, Anthony di Iorio, co -founder of Ethereum, was differentiated with the changing relationships between the two worldwide leading cryptocurrencies.
When Di Iorio thought about the origins of Ethereum, he remembered his early support for Bitcoin and how this led him to Vitalik Buterin and finally to the founding circle of Ethereum.
Although he continues to firmly believe in the role of Bitcoin in the area of digital assets, Di Iorio Ethereum positioned as a platform that should not compete with Bitcoin, but complement them by the development of wider functionalities.
Nevertheless, he is not afraid of bold forecasts. Di Iorio argued that the huge ecosystem from Ethereum – which ranges from Defi to NFTS – offers him a real opportunity to overtake Bitcoin in terms of market capitalization.
“Ethereum enables real application cases and creates a benefit that goes beyond pure value storage,” he said. “That could be enough to ultimately overtake Bitcoin.”
This statement further heats the persistent debate about which digital currency will lead the market in the long term.
